Angela Hardy Art Exhibit - Robert Ruby & Emmy Smith

“You need to see it in person” was a comment repeated by admiring attendees, and we wholeheartedly agree. Please get yourself over to the Art Gallery at Lighthouse Festival Theatre before July 2nd. We had the privilege of attending the Opening Reception for Angela Hardy’s Solo Show “Out Beyond” on Sunday and are still feeling the buzz – a most pleasant one – from the experience. She has 20 paintings on display, and although a number of them have quickly been sold, the new owners have been gracious enough to allow them to remain on display for you to enjoy through the end of the exhibit.

We also had the honour of sitting down with Angela at the end of the day after the crowds thinned out and she shared with snapd about this show: “This time I wanted it to be a bit more about what intrigues me. I wanted to look at the world from a different perspective. There are many skyscapes in this exhibit – all from Port Dover. And from the perspective of down on the ground. We all need to step back, slow down and realize that the world can look like this. This body of work was completed in two months. I’ve been pulling twelve to sixteen hour days to complete all of this. There were two sales during the exhibit and a number of other interested parties.”

We can tell you that more paintings were sold since the opening reception. We asked Angela if she learned anything about herself from completing this latest body of work. She said: “You have to slow down enough to be fully present and actually see things in front of you. When I teach you something, you go and do it. You have to stop thinking and actually enjoy it. We spend too much time focusing on the past and future. Stop to see the present in all its splendor.”

In answer to our question to Angela about what’s next:
“This is a pre-cursor to another body of work I’m going to do. My next work is going to be figurative – all sensual.”

We can hardly wait. In the meanwhile, the exhibit is running through July 2nd at the Art Gallery at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. 47 Main St, Port Dover, (519) 583-1031. Monday through Saturdays, 10am – 5pm. Admission: FREE.

Henry Eising, Angela Hardy & Marjolein Eising “You need to see it in person” was a comment repeated by admiring attendees, and we wholeheartedly agree. There were two sales during the exhibit and a number of other interested parties.” We can tell you that more paintings were sold since the opening reception. We asked Angela if she learned anything about herself from completing this latest body of work. She said: “You have to slow down enough to be fully present and actually see things in front of you. When I teach you something, you go and do it. You have to stop thinking and actually enjoy it. We spend too much time focusing on the past and future. Stop to see the present in all its splendor.” In answer to our question to Angela about what’s next: “This is a pre-cursor to another body of work I’m going to do. My next work is going to be figurative – all sensual.” We can hardly wait. In the meanwhile, the exhibit is running through July 2nd at the Art Gallery at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. 47 Main St, Port Dover, (519) 583-1031. Monday through Saturdays, 10am – 5pm.
